1. My water bill is much higher than normal. What do I do?

Adjustment

If an applicable reason exists, the account holder may submit a Utility Adjustment Request Form with supporting documents. The City will review the customer's account and may make an adjustment. If the request is approved, a Utility Customer Service Representative will contact the customer after the adjustment is completed to advise of the amended balance due. 

Notes

As a customer of City of Casselberry Utilities Division, you may request an adjustment on your current water bill if you have recently encountered double the usage of consumption due to a leak, pool fill or new sod in a 12-month period or unexplained/unintended usage once in a 3-year period. The adjustment request must be submitted within 45 days of repair and 30 days from bill date for unexplained/unintended use. Valid proof of repair must be included. The submittal of this request does not prevent your account from collection activity, including service interruption. Please refer to the adjustment ordinance 18-1499 and/or adjustment policy for full details.

If a payment plan is desired, the account holder must speak with a Utility Customer Service Representative by visiting the Customer Service desk at City Hall or by calling (407) 262-7760.

2. What are the current watering restrictions?

Watering Restrictions

The St. Johns River Water Management District has established mandatory watering restrictions, which specify the days and times when customers may irrigate. The days depend on whether the customer has an odd or even numbered address, and the time of year. 

• Water only when needed and not between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 
• Restrictions also apply to private wells and pumps, ground, and surface water 

Daylight Saving Time

Second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November

• Homes with an odd numbered address or no address may water Wednesday and Saturday
• Homes with an even numbered address may water on Thursday and Sunday
• Non-residential properties may water on Tuesday and Friday

Eastern Standard Time

First Sunday in November until the second Sunday in March

• Homes with an odd numbered address or no address may water on Saturday
• Homes with an even numbered address may water on Sunday
• Non-residential properties may water on Tuesday

3. What is reclaimed water and how is it used?

Reclaimed Water

Treatment of wastewater (also called sewage) is an essential service for a densely populated area such as the City of Casselberry. The wastewater treatment process consists of primary (screening and grit removal), secondary (biological), tertiary (filtration), disinfection, and further processing for land application and the production of reclaimed water.  To view more information regarding reclaimed water, visit the Water and Wastewater page.

4. Does the City of Casselberry put fluoride in its water?

Fluoride in City Water

5. How do I report pollution or illegal dumping?

Reporting Pollution or Illegal Dumping

If you suspect illicit discharge or illegal dumping that may be impacting City lakes or its stormwater system, including storm inlets and retention ponds, please report it either by calling (407) 262-7725 or through the Seminole County Watershed Atlas.

Reports of suspected violations can be made anonymously.
