[ARCHIVED] Lake Concord Park Maintenance

Due to a continuing erosion issue at the beginning of the boardwalk (next to the stage) in Lake Concord Park, the boardwalk will be completely closed for repairs starting Monday 8/29. Signage will be placed at the stage entrance as well as the Plumosa entrance. It is anticipated repairs will take approximately two weeks. They will consist of temporary removal of a portion of the decking at the boardwalk entrance and installation of additional erosion control measures underneath the boardwalk. Public Works has also identified 7 laurel oaks in the park that are in decline; it is anticipated these will be removed over the next few weeks by a contractor. Staff has completed a tree replanting plan to help compensate for the removals, which should be implemented sometime in Fiscal Year 2017.
