Spring Jazz and Art Festival

Saxophone great Will Donato and guitarist Blake Aaron co-headline the City of Casselberry’s free Spring Jazz and Art Festival on Saturday, March 25, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Lake Concord Park.

Donato, whose latest radio single “Good on You” was a No. 1 Billboard hit last year, has headlined or shared the stage as a special guest at the Blue Note in New York City, The Seabreeze Jazz Festival, The Capital Jazz Cruise and a host of over events, supporting his many years of chart-topping hits.

A cancer survivor who celebrates each day, Donato has performed with the Rippingtons, Brian Simpson, Steve Oliver, Wynonna Judd, Richard Marx and many others. He’s also performed on soundtracks for movies including “Thelma and Louis”, “The Wedding Planner” and “Under the Boardwalk.”

A previous single release “Infinite Soul” has more than 3.5 million streams on Spotify and was No. 1 on Billboard’s smooth jazz airplay chart in 2019. He’s currently working on his next full length album that will be released this fall.

The event, sponsored by WUCF, will be the largest free jazz event this spring with music, food trucks and art exhibits.

Besides Donato, the crowd will be impressed by Blake Aaron, who has had five No. 1 singles on the Billboard charts. He started out as a studio musician out of Los Angeles and turned that into a skyrocketing career. He has recorded with Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind and Fire, Sheila E., The Alan Parsons Project, Bobby Womack, the Gap Band, Carlos Santana and many others. He also worked on TV shows “MAD TV”, “The Ben Stiller Show” and “Super Dave Osborne.”

The opening act is the Dave Capp Project, a five-piece band with singer France Neil. The group has performed at the New Smyrna Beach Jazz Festival, the College Park Jazz Festival and the Blues Brothers show at Universal Studios.
