Seminole CARES Individual Assistance Grants Announced

This one-time grant places emphasis on Seminole County residents that have been negatively impacted by the global pandemic. Funding for this program is made available through the Federal CARES Act.  The maximum amount of assistance provided per household is $5,000. This includes rent or mortgage assistance and utility assistance (gas, electric, and water utilities only).

All applications for individual assistance will be accepted through the Seminole CARES portal, an online application that will launch for Seminole CARES Individual Assistance Grants on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.  Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to prepare for the application process by gathering required documents and application content prior to the portal launch in order to speed up the process as grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Seminole CARES Individual Grant Hotline activated on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.  All questions related to the Individual Assistance Grant should be directed to (877) 330-1818.  Please visit the Seminole CARES website: www.SeminoleCares.com for further updates regarding the launch of the portal, the application process, FAQ, and funding timeline.

Reinstatement of Utility Lock-Off

Effective September 1, 2020, the City of Casselberry will reinstate disconnection of water and wastewater service for non-payment of accounts pursuant to City Code requirements.  However, the City will not resume charging late fees or reconnection fees until the expiration of the Governor's State of Public Health Emergency, as it may be extended.  To avoid disconnection of services, payments must be made in full. Payments can be made in person, online, or via the City’s automated telephone system. Other forms of payment include regular U.S. Mail and Wal-Mart* with utility payment stub, but require additional processing time. *Please note that Wal-Mart has a convenience fee for this service.

In an effort to alleviate large balances, the City is allowing for the disbursement of the deposit on account, if applicable, as a payment on the utility account. The account holder must contact the Customer Service Division in order to request the disbursement of the deposit. Should you require a payment plan please email the Customer Service Division or call (407) 262-7700, option 4.
