EarthFest 2017

Come to the 8th annual Earth Fest - Central Florida’s second largest environmentally friendly festival on Saturday, April 29, from noon to 8 PM at Lake Concord Park in Casselberry

Forlorn Strangers

Forlorn Strangers, Jubal’s Kin, Terri Binion highlight this year’s
Earth Fest Concert

Coming off a 19 month whirl-wind tour around the United States, the roots-loving, harmony-heavy, foot-stomping string quintet called Forlorn Strangers (based out of Nashville) will headline this year’s free live concert from 6-9 pm.  Entertaining comparisons to  “a bit Fleetwood Mac and a little Laurel Canyon”, Forlorn Strangers are comprised of five unique songwriters whose individual songwriting and performance styles that include blues, bluegrass, folk, rock and pop songs. Their inspiration comes from The Band, Fleetwood Mac, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. One of their latest videos is featured on the RollingStone website at

Opening for Forlorn Strangers is local favorite singer, songwriter, Gailanne Amundsen and her band, Jubal’s Kin, playing some songs from their latest album, Son of Amund.  This new self-produced album is a portrait of her life growing up and making music with her family in central Florida and traveling around the US playing traditional roots.  She has succeeded both as a traditional musician and a songwriter; her pickup band won the Traditional Band contest at the Appalachian String Band Festival (Clifftop) in 2015, while Jubal's Kin has repeatedly placed high in the Neo-Traditional contest at the same festival.

Gailanne loves to get others singing, and she will soon have you singing along with choruses including ones from her latest solo album produced by John Carter Cash.

Terri Binion

Starting the evening concert will be Terri Binion, an amazing songwriter that “sings the deep poetry of southern life”.  She will be on stage starting at 3:45 p.m. ready to deliver plenty of bluegrass stompers, tender country ballads and other incredible hybrid blends that reframe reality.

Other live entertainment throughout the entire day starts at noon and features many local including blues star Dane Colbert and country duo of Bailey Callahan and Tristan Smith. Come sit at the outdoor beer garden under the 150 year old oak trees from 3:45-8 p.m. (Happy hour from 4-5 pm)  and enjoy the sounds of Terri Binion, Jubal’s Kin and Forlorn Strangers.
